How to Host the Perfect Apartment Get-Together at Barrett Walk-image

Hosting a get-together in your apartment at Barrett Walk doesn’t have to be stressful! Whether you’re planning a cozy game night, a dinner party, or just a casual hangout with friends, there are plenty of ways to make your space work for any occasion. Here are some tips to help you throw the perfect apartment gathering: 1. Keep the Guest List Intimate Since apartment spaces are more compact than a house, it’s best to keep the guest list to a manageable number. A smaller group ensures everyone is comfortable and can move around with ease. Double dates, bestie nights, and sibling get togethers are perfect for an apartment space.  Want to host something larger? Reach out to our team about renting the clubhouse space! 2. Maximize Seating Options Utilize all available seating by bringing in dining chairs, ottomans, or even floor cushions. If space is tight, encourage a more casual vibe with a mix of standing and seated areas. 3. Set the Mood with Lighting & Music Soft lighting—think fairy lights or candles—creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. Pair it with a carefully curated playlist to match the vibe of your gathering, whether it’s chill background music or upbeat party tunes. Our personal favorite – popping on a digital crackling fireplace for a relaxing dinner with friends.  4. Keep the Food & Drinks Simple Opt for easy-to-eat appetizers and finger foods to minimize mess and maximize mingling. Charcuterie boards, sliders, and dips are great options. For drinks, set up a DIY cocktail or mocktail station so guests can serve themselves. Want to get others involved?  Plan a fun themed potluck like a dessert board night, assign food colors, or make items inspired by your favorite film! 5. Create a Functional Flow Arrange your furniture to create an open layout, making it easy for guests to move around. Keep snacks and drinks in a central location, and make sure there’s a designated spot for coats and bags. 6. Be Considerate of Noise Levels Since you’re in an apartment setting, be mindful of your neighbors. Keep the volume at a reasonable level and, if relevant, let nearby neighbors know about your gathering in advance. Always a smart idea to make sure there are no special noise rules for your community. 7. Have Fun & Relax! As the host, your energy sets the tone for the evening. Once everything is set up, focus on enjoying yourself and spending quality time with your guests! With these simple tips, hosting at Barrett Walk can be fun and effortless. What kind of gathering are you planning next? Let us know in the comments!

Join Barrett Walk in Spreading Holiday Cheer with the North Pole Express! 🎄-image

The holiday season is here, and we’re so excited to kick it off with a meaningful tradition at Barrett Walk! This year, we’re proud to participate in Morguard’s North Pole Express , a four-week donation drive aimed at spreading joy to foster children. We’ve teamed up with Comfort Cases, a fantastic nonprofit dedicated to supporting kids in foster care. We invite you to join us in making this holiday season extra special for those who need it most! What Is the North Pole Express? 🎅 Imagine a sleigh filled with more than just toys—this drive focuses on collecting essentials that can truly brighten a child’s day. The North Pole Express is Morguard’s nationwide holiday initiative where communities like Barrett Walk come together to collect donations for children in foster care. For the next four weeks, our lobby will be transformed into a festive drop-off point for your generous contributions. Who Are We Supporting? 💙 We are honored to partner with Comfort Cases , a nonprofit founded by Rob Scheer, who himself grew up in the foster care system. Rob created Comfort Cases to address the heartbreaking reality that many children enter foster care carrying their belongings in trash bags. The organization provides “comfort cases”—backpacks filled with essentials like cozy pajamas, books, blankets, and hygiene products. These comfort cases are much more than just bags—they’re a message to children that they are seen, valued, and cared for. Each backpack is thoughtfully packed to offer dignity and hope, giving kids a sense of belonging during challenging times. How Can You Get Involved? 🎁 We’d love for our wonderful Barrett Walk community to help us make the season brighter for foster children. From now until December 13th , we’re collecting the following items in our lobby: New pajamas (all sizes) Diaper wipes (packs of 10-48) Children’s books (because every child deserves a bedtime story) Small blankets & stuffed animals (for warmth and comfort) Baby washcloths (to help little ones stay clean) Please note that all donations must be new and unused , and they cannot be religious or holiday-themed . This ensures that every gift is inclusive and suitable for all children. Need More Info? 📞 Our team at Barrett Walk is here to assist! If you have any questions about what to donate or need more details on how the drive works, feel free to stop by the leasing office or give us a call. We’re always happy to help you get involved! Why Participate? 🤗 The holiday season is all about giving back and spreading kindness. By supporting the North Pole Express, you’re not just donating items—you’re offering comfort, dignity, and a sense of hope to children who need it most. Together, we can make a real difference and show these kids they’re not alone. Let’s come together as a community to make this the most joyful, impactful holiday yet, Barrett Walk family! 🎄✨ Thank you for your generosity. Let’s fill those comfort cases with love and kindness! 💛😊

Join Barrett Walk Apartments in Supporting Light the Night 2024 in Atlanta!-image

At Barrett Walk Apartments, we’re dedicated to cultivating a community that cares. That’s why we’re thrilled to continue our annual partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) by participating in the Light the Night Walk, a beautiful event that raises awareness and funds for the fight against blood cancers. This year, we’re inviting all of our residents and the wider Atlanta community to walk with us, as we carry lanterns of hope, remembrance, and support in the fight against these devastating diseases. What is Light the Night? Light the Night is a meaningful event designed to bring people together in support of those affected by blood cancers, such as leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease, and myeloma. Every fall, thousands gather at cities across the nation, carrying illuminated lanterns that symbolize different aspects of the battle against these cancers: White Lanterns : Carried by survivors or patients currently battling blood cancer. Red Lanterns : Held by supporters, friends, and family standing in solidarity with their loved ones. Gold Lanterns : A touching tribute to those we have lost to blood cancer. This evening of unity is not only a time to reflect but also a chance to come together and show our strength as a community. The walk is a reminder that no one is alone in this fight, and the light we share together helps guide the way toward hope and a cure. Why Light the Night Matters Blood cancers continue to impact millions of families across the globe. These diseases don’t discriminate—they affect people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. But events like Light the Night show us that we can make a real difference in the lives of those affected. By joining hands with LLS, we support their mission to advance research, provide patient services, and advocate for better access to care. The funds raised from the Light the Night Walk go directly toward life-saving research and support services for patients and families navigating the difficult journey of a cancer diagnosis. Every step we take in this walk brings us closer to a world without blood cancers. Join Us at the Atlanta Light the Night Walk This year, the Atlanta Light the Night Walk will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Piedmont Park —a location that’s not just beautiful, but central to the heart of our vibrant city. As dusk falls and the lanterns light up the night, we’ll walk alongside survivors, supporters, and those remembering loved ones. It’s an evening filled with emotion, solidarity, and hope.  Barrett Walk Apartments will be there, walking together as a community, ready to shine a light on the importance of this cause. We’ll also be raising funds and awareness within our own apartment community leading up to the event. Whether you’re a long-time resident or new to Barrett Walk, we invite you to get involved and be part of something bigger than yourself. How You Can Participate We’re encouraging all of our Barrett Walk residents to take part in this year’s Light the Night Walk, and here’s how you can get involved: 1. Sign Up to Walk With Us Joining the Barrett Walk team is simple! Just visit our team’s registration page and sign up. Whether you’re a seasoned walker or participating for the first time, we’ll be thrilled to have you join us. Feel free to invite your friends, family, and coworkers—everyone is welcome to walk with us and share in this powerful evening. 2. Fundraise for the Cause Every dollar raised makes a difference! After signing up, you’ll have the option to create your own fundraising page or contribute to our team’s page. Fundraising is a great way to make an even greater impact, and whether you’re asking friends, family, or coworkers to donate, every contribution adds up. Don’t worry if you’re new to fundraising—LLS provides plenty of resources and tips to help you succeed! 3. Spread the Word One of the simplest but most powerful ways to contribute is by raising awareness. Share your involvement in the Light the Night Walk on social media, talk to your neighbors, and encourage others to participate. By spreading the word, you can help bring more attention to this important cause and inspire others to join the fight against blood cancers. Why This Event Means So Much to Us For the Barrett Walk community, Light the Night isn’t just another event—it’s a chance for us to come together as neighbors and friends in support of a cause that touches so many lives. Whether you’ve been personally impacted by blood cancer or simply want to stand in solidarity with those who have, your participation helps us show that our community is one that cares deeply and takes action to make a difference. Ready to Walk with Us? If you’re as excited as we are about Light the Night, now’s the time to take action! Sign up to walk with Barrett Walk Apartments at the Atlanta Light the Night Walk, fundraise to support LLS, and help spread the word. Together, we’ll light up the night and help bring hope to those affected by blood cancer. Let’s make 2024 the year we shine brighter than ever before. Ready to make a difference?
